2017 has been an exceptionally busy year for Lulu UK; with publishing initiatives for our existing author community, new authors breaking into indie-publishing, and our growing numbers of small independent publishers. With the end of the year fast approaching we look back on a bustling year, and consider what’s to come in 2018. Over the last nine months, Lulu launched several new services and also some great writing competition partner initiatives (which are still open for entries!). November is also National Novel Writing Month so if you are a first-time writer struggling for inspiration or a seasoned author, this is a great month to start that novel as you will be in some great company.
Lulu Print API for Authors and Publishers
The trend in recent years is towards authors and publishers supplying their readers directly via their own websites rather than through a third party. Connecting directly with your readers offers better margins for you as well as allowing you to build up a direct relationship with your readers – invaluable for direct marketing and fostering communities for your books.
Since 2002 Lulu has built an unrivalled global print network for our community. In October, we launched our Print API for authors and publishers looking to access that global print and logistics network via their own e commerce enabled websites. This silent software sits behind your website’s shopping basket and as soon as your customer places an order, we print and deliver the order direct to your end customer wherever in the world they live. Visit developers.lulu.com for more details on how to streamline getting books to your readers.
UK Based Marketing and PR Services
Earlier this year Lulu launched a new partnership with Authoright, a UK based marketing and PR company. This partnership enables us to better serve our UK based authors and keep our fingers on the pulse of the publishing and writing industry in the UK market. The full range of services can be found here.
